ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಂದೆಯ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದು, ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಕ್ಲಾಸ್‍ವರೆಗೆ ಓದು, ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನಿ, ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಮನೋವೃತ್ತಿ, ಕಾರಣ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಹಾಗೆ ಬೆಳೆದ ಗಣೇಶ ಹೆಗಡೆ ತನಗಿಲ್ಲದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ದೊರೆಯಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ತೊಟ್ಟರು.

ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಹಕಾರಿ ತತ್ವದಡಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪ್ರಸಾರಕ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ. ಸಿದ್ದಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ, ನಂತರ ಇಟಗಿ, ದೊಡ್ಮನೆ, ಬಿಳಗಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸಿದ್ದಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಲಕೀಯರ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ. ಎಂ.ಜಿ.ಸಿ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದವರು ಹೆಗಡೆ. ಅದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಾಡಿನ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದವರು, ಬಡವರು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವಂತರಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.

ಎಲ್ಲ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ಕಟ್ಟಡ, ವಾಚನಾಲಯ, ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯಗಳಿಂದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ. ಆಯುರ್ವೇದ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆರಂಭ, ಸಹಕಾರಿ ತತ್ವದಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರು ಹೆಗಡೆಯವರು.

ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ತಾಲೂಕು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಾಕ್ಷರತೆ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದುಳಿದವರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿತು ಐ.ಎ.ಎಸ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂದು ಸರಕಾರಿ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಗಡೆಯವರು ಜನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದುಡಿದದ್ದು ಅವಿಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ.

SarvShree Ganesh Hegde Dodmane….. The founder of these Educational Institutions had the strong desire to provide higher education to the youngsters of Siddapur taluka, an economically backward rural area.

The internal social oriented purpose of Shree Ganesh Hegde, a freedom fighter behind this positive constructive activity was the feeling that he was unable to have higher education in his childhood but the youngsters of this poor taluka must have facility to pursuit their education.

His spirited vision and the restless working zeal materialized this Shikshana Prasarak Samiti, Siddapur. which now runs nursery to degree classes and an Ayurveda College with P.G course. To achieve this magnificent unparalleled dream was not a path of Rose but of thorn. But it is done!

Today his visionary steps on this land, his spirited endeavors in this rural community, his zeal to achieve for the good cause of his local society in general stands proudly on this earth with a happy breath of success as Shikshana Prasarak Samiti, Siddapur.
